Maybe it’s time you backtrack and review

At least all of this was still brand new

Shouldn’t be too hard to go back to what you’re used to

You felt the butterflies

You felt your heart skip a beat

Yet here you are, still alone

It’s smart of you to pull back and retreat

I saw the future, the images of you and me

I saw my happiness, which I’ve never been able to see 

It felt romantic, felt myself being swept off my feet

But I know now that not all is as it seems
